Fish Hat Part III

So I'm getting farther on the fish hat. I took a little break to make a cat hat for my sister. I should have taken a picture. I'm surprised I even made the thing. Shes so weird sometimes and this hat is only encouraging it. Oh well. I also made a scarflette for my grandma. I didn't take a picture of that either. Hopefully she'll like it. So here's the two pictures of the hat so far. One was less blurry and the other had better color so I'm posting them both.

Fish Hat Part II

So this project is going a lot faster than I anticipated. Maybe because i'm so excited to make this hat. So here's the yarn I picked out for it.
The mouth and start of the body.
Farther into the body.

Fish Hat

So I've decided to start this fish hat that is in the Knitty.com Winter 08 issue. I'm really excited about it. It's for a coworker who loves to fish and he seemed to think it was pretty cool. Now if only I could figure out what colors to use. I have a few in mind but we'll see how it turns out. I'll keep posts of how it's coming.

I've also just finished the last of my custom orders this holiday. They turned out well I think. Not as well as the Leafs hat, but that's ok.

Toronto Maple Leafs Hat

So I had a custom order for a Toronto Maple Leafs hat and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. I think it's the first hat that I've actually just gone with it. They wanted a Maple Leaf on the top which I knew I would never be able to knit in while decreasing so I cut out the leaf, old school Toronto logo, on a piece of white felt and sewed it to the top. Which was actually easier than I thought.

I also crocheted around the edge to make it appear more finished.

The earflaps are also perfect. They curve a little at the bottom to make a little cup which I think will work nicely for a two-year old.
